Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai

Too many things going around at the same time...To name some:

  1. One teenage boy killed by a BSF Jawan in Kashmir;
  2. Shahrukh Khan's "My Name is Khan" released amid threats of violent protests from Shiv Sena;
  3. Omar Abdullah, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir want the misguided youth who went to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir for arms training to be back in Kashmir, given amnesty to them and them living a normal life in Kashmir;
  4. Union Home Minister Mr.P Chidambram welcomes the people of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir to India as Indian Citizens since POK is an integral part of India, so what, if it is under the occupation of Pakistan since 1948 and most of the people living their are either Pro-Pakistan or would like Kashmir more to be an independent country than as a part of India;
  5. Human Right Violations continue in Kashmir against the innocent Kashmiri Hindus who are killed and expelled from their homelands by the separatists using terrorist methodologies;
  6. Bal Thakerey is more worried about the attack against Indians in Australia, while his own and his estranged nephew's partymen keep attacking Indians in India - read Non-Maharashtrians in Maharashtra;
  7. India Proposes Peace Talks with Pakistan;
One may think that all the above items may or may not be co-related to each other and if by any remote chance one get to relate them, the same are not put in a chronological order. Well..!! All the above items are related to each other with one very strong string (may have weakened with whatever is happening in today's times) - NATIONAL INTEGRATION..!! FREEDOM..!! DEMOCRACY..!!

To start with..so many people in Kashmir keep protesting against the appointment of security forces in the valley as their freedom is always under the watchful eyes of these security men..Some of them still feel that inclusion of Kashmir in Union of India was a deceitful action by the erstwhile ruler of Kashmir and was without the mandate of the people of Kashmir...Well they have a right to think so..but time and again..the people of Kashmir have participated in the Electoral Process under the Constitution of India and the current democratically elected state government considers Kashmir to be a part of India (now dont start the blaming the elections of being rigged)...So why not accept that the separatists are in minority in Kasmir itself and should accept the majority mandate...

So many people including eminent journalists including Ms. Barkha Dutt consider the killing of the sixteen year old boy by a BSF Jawan in the valley to be a human right violation and may not even hesitate to highlight the so called continuous human right violation in Kashmir by the security forces deputed by the Government of India at international level...But nobody has cared to highlight the plight of the native Kashmiri Hindus who had been living peacefully in Kashmir, but were killed by the so called Mujaheddin or forced to flee Kashmir and live like an illegal immigrants in other parts of their own country..Ms. Dutt was very prompt in denouncing the human right violation of the killed youngster but is yet to answer the question raised by Yours Truly two days ago about the Plight of the Kashmiri Hindus. She has rather lost all her sleep for the past few days over the release of his friend's movie in Mumbai and Maharashtra..

Do these Kashmiri Hindus have no human rights? Shouldn't they be considered a minority in Kashmir? Shouldn't there be a plan devised by the Union and State Government to rehabilitate them in their lost homeland Kashmir before considering amnesty for youth who took up arms and passed over LOC to become terrorists..just to kill these innocent people?? Shouldn't Mr.Abdullah or Mr. Chidambram be ashamed of themselves for welcoming the terrorists back to Kashmir before rehabilitating these Kashmiris back in Kashmir??

I am no BJP supporter or fan or anything like that but still fail to comprehend, why should there be a special status for the state of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 of the Constitution of India? Infact, why should there be such an article in the Constitution itself? Please note that I do not intend to insult the Constitution or those who drafted it, but then I hope I am within my rights, if I say let us have The Constitution of India reviewed for so many things - be it Article 370 or the Reservation policy in Education and Employment.

Coming to the hottest topic - the great fight between Shahrukh Khan and Bal Thakerey...Well..what would I say? Both are dramatists to the core.. While Shiv Sena is nothing more than a bunch of goons, Shahrukh is also prone to anything that brings more publicity to his about to release movies... MNIK being the biggest bet of his life, which seems to now paying rich dividends.

As for Shiv Sena - well...they dont believe in the Democracy..they believe in violent demolition of the Democratic Values..they believe in crushing people's freedom by violence...By violating the fundamental rights of the citizens of India, they show that they have little respect for the Constitution and Democracy...One may wonder, why they even bother to participate in the Electoral Process initiated under the Constitution of India...Infact I suggest that any political outfit that choses to turn things their way using the violent methods should be barred from participating in any sort of Electoral Process..I am sure, all this violence would be a matter of past...

Also Shiv Sena proposes to protest against the Australians playing in IPL in India...for the racial attacks against the Indians in Australia...What moral right they have to oppose the Australian Players when they themselves are culprit of doing the same...

Shiv Sena and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, both parties had been using violent methods against people migrating to Maharashtra from other states for employment since last so many years...And they are doing this against their own fellow countrymen..!! Even worse than what's happening in Australia...Its hightime people should open their eyes and realize the fallacy with such parties..

Finally, peace talks with Pakistan...Why is Indian giving in to start a dialogue with Pakistan??? After so many years of continuous enimity forced upon us, we still hope of peace with them..even when news comes pouring in about the Pakistan's acquisition of arms on large scale for a full fledged war against India...Why not we realize that there can never be peace with Pakistan until they mend their ways..

The Government of India swore that there would be no dialogue with Pakistan until they take some concrete steps against countering terrorism against India being planned and sponsered within their own country...What steps have Pakistan taken that have prompted India to start a dialogue with India...Same old Drama..!!! There would be peace talks..then there would some Airplane Hijack or some terrorist attack like the one on the Parliament or at Mumbai and again we will complete another full circle...Boss..Why dont you settle it once and for all...Atleast, those who would be luck to survive would be able to look ahead instead of going into endless loops of terrorism, war, blame games and peace talks.

What with this Aman ki Aasha program run by Times of India..I still remember Times of India group being one of the most vocal groups to have denounced 26/11 Terror Attacks and had vowed that their should be no peace talks until there are some hard steps taken by Pakistan..Why are Pakistani Artists still allowed to work in India? We give respect to their people..invite them to our country to perform..earn respect..earn fame and money..and what are we getting in return..hate..terror...war...abuse..

We talk of peace with Pakistan and they conspire against us in each possible way...

Really dont understand the double standards..

Life in a Metro - II

Ever thought of people who make our lives in these overconjusted cities comfortable:

  1. A railway motorman/ Local Bus Transport Staff, who run their services, whatever may come...heavy rain, floods or a full fledged terrorist attack;
  2. Municipal Corporation Employees working in various departments be it the cleaning, water supplies or any other such public service department - People who try to clean up all the dirt and garbage we drop on the road without giving a second thought, people who face the ire of public for lack of water supplies or for dirty public places. Ofcourse people dont realise that they are more responsible for all this. They spit Pan/ Gutka and defaecate in public places, waste litres and litres of clean drinking water in washing their vehicles and then righteously blame the government and the people running it;
  3. Police who maintain law and order including Traffic Police - Ever imagined what it would be like to be a police officer under constant pressure from seniors officers and politicians or facing a continuous danger to his and his lovables' lives from criminals and yet stands a brave face before compromising - Ofcourse, we are all humans and I just imagine, what would I be like, had I been in their positions. Ever observed a Traffic Policeman standing on a busy square while the traffic lights have malfunctioned due to heavy rainfall, while he his still there - in the rainfall and trying his best to manage the traffic;
The list of such people would be endless, who without asking your caste or religion serve you day and night, try their best to make your lives comfortable without bothering about the lack of amenities at their own homes for their family - their lovables.

Last but not the least, before raising a finger towards them for being corrupt, being slow and all the other not so good things about them, lets have look at ourselves, have we been absolutely honest all our life? Do we pay all your taxes honestly? Do we have the civic sense to abide by the traffic laws, to not spit/ not urinate/ not throwing garbage in public places? Do we clean our pet's dropping from public places when we take them around for a stroll?

Thanks to these people with whose efforts, we are able to be comfortable in a city like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangaluru or any such place.. Its been their efforts only that we are able to sit cozily in our offices and homes and criticize them for not doing their worth.

And why only big cities, this applies to each and every city, town and village..

Let all of us help ourselves..

Life in a Metro

A few million people travel daily in inhuman conditions in Mumbai's Sub-Urban railways, or the BEST services fight like animals for a few inches of space, where they can put a foot, but are still tolerant towards those politicians whose inefficiency has landed them in such a situation.

The fact is, we dont have the courage to fight injustice. We pay taxes which are spent on the security bandobast and caravan of cars of the Mantriji, while we travel like flock of animals in an overconjusted slow moving train, continuously under threat of another Bomb Blast in our daily mode of transport.

Is somebody listening?

MAY GOD HELP US..

Be it Afghanistan or India

Just finished reading two wonderful works from Khaled Hosseini. Two of the most touching stories I have ever read. I started with The Kite Runner and by the time I completed reading, my hands were trembling and had a lump in my throat.

When I started reading A Thousand Splendid Suns, there was a time I felt my heart to be too timid to complete the book. The horrifying life the women and children were and are forced to live. Then I somehow completed the book and this time my heart was trembling.

Ofcourse these were works of fictions but these show the reality of life in Afghanistan, how the living conditions have deteriorated in the last 30 years. But for the greed of erstwhile Soviet Union and the U.S.A., this place could have been a better place to live.

How can GOD, the most merciful creator be so cruel with so many people at the same time. Now I wonder, what would the people of Iraq would be going through right now. Another place, human greed made a hell of.

Reading these two books, I found stark similarities with the lives women and children live in rural India, where people dont even think twice before killing their new born infant daughters, where women have no voice and have to live in a veil for their entire life, where love is a such a crime that girls are stripped and paraded before being killed in the name of family honour.

The truth is, what happens in the tribal areas of Afghanistan and Pakistan happens in rural areas of a democratic country like India, which boasts of equal rights for all its citizens and claims to be the leader of the world in the 21st Century.

How do we claim our country to be on the doorsteps of the developed world, when half of our population is still not enjoying the basic rights a human being deserves.

MAY GOD HELP US.
